Your data stays yours.

Rulely has no accounts, no advertising, no tracking, and no remote game server. Your gameplay, settings, and statistics stay on your device. The only data that leaves it is the app-update check and, if you buy Rulely Plus, your purchase history (both below).

What stays on your device

Puzzle progress, streaks and statistics, your preferences (theme, symbol mode, reduced motion, haptics, reminder time), and whether you own Rulely Plus are all stored locally. We never transmit this data to us or to anyone else.

Daily puzzles work offline

Each day's puzzle is generated on your device from the local calendar date. Playing, building patterns, and sharing your spoiler-free result all work without a network connection.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, the operating system asks for notification permission and schedules a local reminder on your device. No reminder data leaves your phone, and you can turn it off any time in Settings.

App updates

When Rulely starts, it checks for app updates through Expo Application Services (our build and update provider). That check sends Expo only technical data — your platform, the app version, and a random installation identifier — never your gameplay, stats, or any personal detail. It lets us ship fixes without a full store download.

Purchases

Rulely Plus is an optional in-app purchase, available as a monthly or annual subscription or a one-time lifetime unlock. The transaction is handled by the App Store or Google Play and processed for receipt validation by RevenueCat, our purchase infrastructure provider, which assigns an anonymous identifier. RevenueCat receives your purchase history (the plan bought, its price, dates, and the store) under that anonymous identifier, uses it to verify your membership, and gives us aggregate purchase statistics. Neither we nor RevenueCat receive your name, email, or payment details. Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until canceled in your store account.

International transfers

Our update provider (Expo) and, if you purchase, our purchase provider (RevenueCat) are based in the United States, so the limited technical data described above may be processed there. These transfers rely on the Swiss–U.S. and EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the standard contractual clauses recognized by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) and the European Commission. Apple and Google process your purchase under their own privacy policies.

Your rights

You can access, correct, and delete your data directly: your gameplay, stats, and settings live on your device, are visible in the app, and are erased by "Reset stats" in Settings or by uninstalling Rulely. For the limited purchase or update records held by our providers, you may ask us to access or delete them, or object to their processing, by emailing the contact below — we respond within 30 days, free of charge. You may also lodge a complaint with the FDPIC (Switzerland) or your local data protection authority (EEA/UK).

Children

Rulely is suitable for ages 4+ and is not directed at children. It shows no ads and keeps gameplay on your device, so we do not knowingly collect personal information that could identify a child. The only data that leaves the device is the anonymous app-update check and, if a purchase is made, an anonymous purchase record.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above.
